Our Mission

Donate Now

The Alpe Bognago project as we know it now only truly started in 2024, and so is still freshly on its legs! Viana welcomed her very first, small group of volunteers in October 2023, more as a trial period than anything else, to see if the vision that she had for Bognago was even possible - long story short, it was! With this experience in hand she was able to go forward in 2024 with more volunteers, and bigger renovation plans, and bring us to where we are now.

Bognago does not receive any funding or support outside of the income generated by our B&B guests and donations. Maintaining a place like Bognago and creating a space open to all comes with a lot of real life costs. Any form of support from you makes a massive difference for the project, and what we are actually able to achieve.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Bognago since 2023, whether it was financially or with your skill set and time, Bognago would not exist as it does now without you.

Fundraising for Restoration: Build Up Bognago

“Build Up Bognago” is our ongoing fundraising project. Because Bognago was out of use and uninhabited for so many years, most of the houses have fallen into disrepair. Some structures face serious issues such as water damage and leaking roofs; others need nothing more than plastering and a fresh coat of paint to make living there more comfortable again.

Your support helps us repair roofs, restore stonework, reopen overgrown terraces and bring life back to this mountainside village without losing its history—so it can continue to host community, retreats and shared learning for years to come. Above all, we have seen that the purpose of Bognago is to help people along their path.

Our Wishlist: Helping Us Grow

Instead of financial donations, you can also support us through donating tools, equipment and supplies that directly help our daily work. Bognago loves to reuse and recycle. If you have things at home that are in good condition but no longer needed, we may be able to give them a second life here.
