Secret Mountain Retreat is the guesthouse side of Bognago: book a stay and explore our little sanctuary for a quiet weekend or a longer escape into nature. You can spend your time hiking, relaxing, exploring the forest and bathing in the nearby rivers.
Even though Bognago is remote and off-grid, we can still offer our guests all the luxuries and amenities of modern housing, such as running hot water, electricity, and flush toilets. We can comfortably host groups of up to 20-25 people — with camping, the amount is endless. Our full capacity varies depending on the time of year, the weather, and the needs of the group. Secret Mountain Retreat currently offers comfortable and newly renovated guest rooms, each one with its own unique style, decor and size (inspired by native wild plants of the region), adding to Bognago's unique storybook charm. During their stay we invite guests to join our community meals and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal in company. Our kitchen is plant based, if not vegan, always vegetarian. The only meat we cook is locally and ethically hunted meat from the valley. We also have our own chickens for daily fresh eggs. We try to grow as much of our own food as possible in our garden, enjoy harvests from our fruit trees, and forage for all kinds of wild plants, nuts and mushrooms depending on the season!
Thanks to our solar panels Bognago has electricity, and even running hot water! Luggage and goods are transported to Bognago via our luggage transport cable car and for a fee is available for use to our guests.
A large common room complete with various games (board games, table tennis, fuss ball), musical instruments, a library and a projector is open to guests during their stay. We also have a small football field and badminton nets on site!
